A LITTLE BIT
ABOUT
ME….
My first experience taking a memorable photograph was Christmas morning. My little brother was in a cozy fleece onesie, maybe the age of 3 or so. Everyone was trying to capture a cute photograph of him and he wouldn’t smile or stop for anyone. I walked over with my camera, got him right in front of the Christmas tree and he smiled the most adorable smile for me! I’ll never forget it. Later in life this would be the image and experience that would allow me to see this was my passion.
I started to do themed shoots, dressing up my sisters and going out to different locations to take beautiful photographs as the sun set or sometimes going out after dark and using the artificial lighting from the street lamps. I used whatever I had to be creative and have fun. That even meant using some silk pajama pants as a scarf once!
I wasn’t until college that I realized photography was my calling. I decided to enroll into a photography school the following year. I was indecisive as to whether or not I wanted to do photo journalism or fashion photography. (I know crazy different sides of the spectrum..) After spending time actually shooting and becoming a mother I realized the need for someone to photograph everyone’s beauty. It is time for everyone to shine and appreciate all the things that they offer and give to the world. Which lead me to portrait photography.
“I fell in love with my work, driven by the possibility of positively impacting how individuals perceive themselves.”
At that point, my skills developed significantly, and I realized my true calling. It brings me great joy to envision a world where everyone can liberate themselves from the misconceptions that only movie stars and models are beautiful. I aim to help people recognize their own beauty and to encourage a more compassionate self-view. Ultimately, I believe that true beauty comes from within, and that inner qualities are what truly define us.
